About Staff Selection Commission:

This body which is knowingly called as Staff Selection Commission OR SSC is a department which is under the control of the Government of India. Their main aim and structure is based on recruiting many of the staffs for many of the posts which come out as vacant in the Ministries and many departments of the Government and its Subordinate offices. The commission is actually present as an attachment to the Department of Personnel and Training, also called as DoPT. The DoPT consists of A Chairman, two members and a Secretary aka Controller of Examinations. The Estimates committee in the Parliament did the job of referring and setting the Staff Selection Commission for having examinations being conducted to employ many lower cadre posts.

SSC MTS Syllabus:

The syllabus for the SSC MTS exam consists of basic two papers, from which Paper-I has General Intelligence, Numerical aptitude, English Language, General awareness as main subjects.

Paper 2, however, has other General awareness and English language based questions.

The syllabus is given below,

1. General Intelligence Nonverbal type of questions, Space visualization, Decision making and Visual Memory, Discriminating observation, Figure classification, Similarities and differences, analysis and Judgment, Problem-solving, Relationship concepts, etc.
Numerical aptitude Questions asked will be based on problems relating to Number systems, Decimal and fractions, Percentages and averages, Interests and discounts, Uses of tables, Ratio and time, Profit and loss, etc.
English Language Concepts of basic English, Grammar, and vocabulary, Synonyms and antonyms etc.
General awareness History, culture, economic sense, General polity, geography, etc.
2. Paper- II One short essay OR Letter in English or any language of expertise, which has been mentioned din the 8th schedule of Constitution.
Non Technical Syllabus for General Awareness Sports, history based questions, economic related topics, General politics of the country, etc.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern – Paper 1:

For MTS (Non-Technical) Examination, SSC has made changes in SSC MTS Paper-I (Non-Technical) exam. Find the latest SSC MTS Paper-I exam pattern, candidates can check it before appearing in Multi Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) Examination. Candidates are advised to prepare for exam according to weightage as now all sections are equally important because all contain 25 questions.

SSC MTS Paper 2 Exam Pattern:

Paper-II will be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution. Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature.

SSC Multitasking Staff Exam Details:

  • There will be negative marking and 0.25 will be deducted for any wrong answer.
  • Paper I will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions only.
  • The question will be set both in English & Hindi.
  • The SSC might set the questions additionally in regional languages, if technical feasible.
  • Paper II will be of only those candidates who will meet the cut-off prescribed by the commission in Paper I for various categories.
  • Paper II is of qualifying nature and will only test your elementary skills.
