Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) is recruiting 880 PGTs and 660 TGTs in unreserved and reserved categories. The online registration process and fee payment at the bank are underway. The written test date has been tentatively scheduled for the months of November and December of 2016. Examination Pattern Of NVS:
The written examination for both TGT and PGT vacancy includes 1 common paper for 200 marks. The duration of the written test will be for 2 hours and 30 minutes. The difficulty level for the question papers will be based on the qualifications required for the posts. The standard of question paper for PGTs will be at the Postgraduate level and for TGTs it will be at the Graduation level. The written exam performance is qualifying in nature and the marks evaluation will determine if the candidate is called for interview or not.

Syllabus Of Written Examination For PGT and TGT Positions:
Candidates who submitted successful online applications have to appear for the written examination with their admit cards. The written examination will evaluate the candidate’s knowledge in General Awareness, Language, GK, Teaching Skills, and Subject Specialization. The marks allotment and specific syllabus topics are tabulated below –

NVS TGT And PGT Vacancy Examination Topics And Pattern:
The written exam has multiple choice objective type questions. Each correct answer carries one mark. The aspirants have to prepare for various topics listed below by studying books, solving the previous papers. The candidates have to revise their teaching aptitude skills along with their specific subject knowledge. English and Hindi parts of the paper require the candidate to be proficient in reading, writing, grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, etc.,
General Intelligence, Numerical Ability & Reasoning:
This section of the question paper tests the candidate’s quantitative aptitude, numerical reasoning, business mathematics, menstruation, etc., The aspirant has to tackle questions dealing with profit and loss, times and dates, simple interest, compound interest, types of numbers, etc., The formulae have to be memorized and their application has to be mastered by solving as many problems as possible during preparation. Tips and tricks have to be learnt to solve the section in a short amount of time.
This section of the written test covers static GK, current affairs, historical events and dates, geographical knowledge, sentence completion, units and measurements, etc., Regular reading of books, newspapers, magazines helps the candidate in achieving good scores in this section. Candidates have to prepare by reading extensively from yearbooks and question banks. The atlas also has to be referred to improve understanding of local, national, and international geography.
English & Hindi:
The language section of the common paper tests the candidate’s comprehension of the language. Essays and passages have to be read and related questions have to be answered. Candidates require good vocabulary to answer the synonyms and antonyms questions along with basic and advanced grammar. Tenses, active and passive voice, parts of speech, figures of speech, and idioms are covered. Regular reading of literature can help the candidate score good marks in this section. Hindi section of the paper covers general Hindi along with basic and advanced grammar, verbs, adverbs, etc.,
