KCET 2017 Notification:
Karnataka Examination Authority will be conducting the state level Karnataka Common Entrance Test ( KCET 2017 ) in order to select participants for its UG engineering programs across the state. The Entrance Test is scheduled to be conducted in May 2017 tentative. The authority provides application form in coming days on its official portal along with other important details.Meanwhile, the candidates who are preparing for KCET 2017 can follow the given notification for more information on KCET 2017.
KCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria:
- The contestant must have completed 12th or 10+2 or equivalent qualification scoring 45% as minimum score in the qualifying exam.
- The candidates falling under SC, ST, and OBC category will get 5% of relaxation.
- The candidates must be Indian nationals.
Out of the total number of seats available under the KCET 2017 test, seats are reserved for SC, ST, and OBC, NCC, PwDs, Anglo-Indians, Ward of J&K category etc. The aspirants will have to produce documents supporting their category.
How to Fill KCET 2017 Application Form:
In order to appear for the KCET 2017 that is scheduled to be held in 1st week of May 2017 through submission of the application form that will be shortly posted on its official portal. Following are the instructions to follow –
- Enter the URL www.kea.kar.nic.in.
- When the homepage of the website opens, the candidates are required to search for the link “KCET 2017” where the link for online registration will be available.
- The aspirants must register on the website in order to generate provision Application ID and password that will be required to log in to the account.
- Starting filling the application form by feeding all the details as per asked.
- The candidates must make sure that no field is left empty or they can canvas or forge details in any form as it may cause the application form to get rejected.
- Then proceed towards uploading the scanned image of thumb impression, signature, and passport sized photo on the application form in prescribed format and click on Submit button for submission of the form.
- The last step will be the payment of Application fee as prescribed below.
- Take the hard copy of the application and acknowledge for later use.
Application Fee is required to be paid as DD drawn in favor of Executive Director, Karnataka Examination and Authority and payable at Bangalore.

KCET 2017 Exam Centres:
The state level entrance test will be held across 54 exam centres in 29 districts of Karnataka. The candidates who are preparing to apply for the test are free to choose their preferred exam centre during the slot booking process that will commence after submissions are closed.
KCET 2017 Exam Pattern:
Duration of Test is 2 ½ Hours. The test will have 2 papers that are Paper I containing sections of Chemistry and Physics and Paper II containing Mathematics subject. The Test will be conducting in offline mode across exam centres weighting total of 480 marks. The marking scheme for test 1 marks will be deducted for every wrong attempt and 4 marks will be added for every right answer.
KCET 2017 Syllabus:

KCET 2017 Admit Card:
The Admit Card which is also known as Hall Ticket will be published by the concerned authority in 2nd week of April 2017. The aspirants who will be appearing for the entrance test must download it from the official site once it is released and produce it during the date of examination. The aspirants will have to take printouts of the admit card to preserve it until the results are declared. The Hall ticket is very important as it contains all the information about the applicants and other important details and needs to be carried together at the examination failing which the applicants will not be permitted to give the test.
KCET 2017 Results:
The Results for KCET 2017 will be published online by the last week of May 2017. Although the exact date is not published yet, however, the concerned organization will notify candidates once the date is fixed. The candidates must take the printout of the results and wait until the cutoff scores are declared. Then the applicants can continue with further the admission process.
KCET 2017 Cutoff:
In order to qualify the KCET 2017 entrance test, the participants are bound to score above the cutoff marks that decides if he/she is eligible for taking admissions at UG engineering programs or not. The candidates obtaining marks above cutoff can take admissions at any institute that accepts KCET 2017 scores and that they will have to wait for the counseling session in order to secure admissions at preferred college.
KCET 2017 Counseling:
The counseling process is where the KCET 2017 scores and ranks are evaluated and as per which the eligible candidates will be allotted seats at engineering colleges in the Seat allotment round after their documents are successfully verified.
KCET 2017 Seat Allotment:
After the documents are verified, candidates will be asked to fill in the CAP round preference list where they have to mention names of preferred course and colleges in the state of Karnataka.
The University may organize multiple CAP Rounds where the candidates in order to allot engineering seats to all its applicants.
