Indian Railway Salary After 7th Pay Revision:

After the implementation of 7th pay commission, The Indian Railways has increased the pay scale and grade pay for various positions in different departments. As per rules of the railway boards, The directives of 7th CPC are implemented to raise the Indian Railway employees’ salary. Eligible employees can expect an increment between 2.5 % to 3% as compared to the previous salaries.

The Indian Railway offers the following allowances for eligible employees from various departments:

Indian Railway Salary Calculator:

The Indian Railway salary is calculated by adding up all the allowances and the basic pay structure. The basic pay structure includes the monthly basic pay and grade pay, and the variable allowances are summed up in the following manner –

  • DA is 80% of the basic pay scale. (Basic Pay x 80% = DA)
  • Depending on the location of posting, minimum and maximum House Rent Allowance (HRA) are 10% and 30% respectively. (Basic pay x 10% = HRA)
  • Total Salary =  Basic Pay + Grade Pay + DA + HRA +Travel Allowance(TA).
