Fashion Technology Entrance Exams 2017: Fashion technology refers to the skills and practices required for production, marketing, and sale of clothing, accessories, footwear, lifestyle products, makeup, and furniture. The technology concerns primarily with trade, art, and application skills required to style and design fashion products. The vocational, productivity, creativity, commercial and business aspects are covered in the courses. The technical skills include tailoring, garment selection, texture of clothing and accessories, pattern selection and matching, design, and production.

Fashion Technology Entrance Exams Eligibility Criteria:
The general guidelines for eligibility to fashion technology courses is mentioned below –
- 10 + 2 or 12th Standard or equivalent qualification with 50% marks.
- School certificates should be from recognised State and Central Boards of Education.
- Candidates with 10 + 3 year Diplomas in Fashion Design can seek lateral entry into 4 year B Des courses.
- Master degree courses require Bachelor degrees / Diploma in Design/etc.,

NIFT Entrance Examination (National Institute Of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination):
NIFT is the premier institute for fashion design in India. India’s top most fashion design stalwarts have all been past alumni here. The courses offered include Design Bachelors in fashion, textile, knitwear, leather, accessories, and fashion communication. Masters and PhD programmes are also available in fashion management, design, and fashion technology.
AIEED (All India Entrance Examination For Design:
4 year UG and 2 year PG courses are offered to students aspiring for creative and enriching careers in fashion industry. The online exam is conducted between April and August while the offline centre-based exam is scheduled in the month of June. Aspirants have the option of selecting centre and time and admission is based on academic score, AIEED score, and counselling performance.
CEED (Common Entrance Examination For Design):
The IIT Bombay hold CEED for admission into MDes and PhD in Design programmes offered at IITs and IISc Bangalore. The exam to be held on Jan 22, 2017 from 10 AM to 1 PM tests the candidates’ design aptitude, visual perception, creativity, problem solving and communication skills.
IICD(Indian Institute Of Crafts & Design):
UG and PG programmes in Crafts and Design are offered to IICD qualifiers. The application forms have to be submitted between Dec 2016 – May 2017. The entrance is held during May last week of 2017 and tests the candidates’ aptitude in colours, materials, creativity, and general awareness.
AIFD(Army Institute Of Fashion Design):
3 year BSc in Fashion Apparel Design and 2 year diplomas in fashion, design, and retail management are offered to AIFD qualifiers. UG candidates have to appear for Written Admission Test (WAT) while PG aspirants are subjected to Creative Aptitude Test and Interview.
IIAFT (Indian Institute Of Art And Fashion Technology):
Certificate courses are offered in fashion design, textile design, tailoring and garments, jewellery and diamond design, along with BSc and advanced courses. Qualifications range from higher secondary to graduation.
NID Entrance Examination (National Institute Of Design Entrance Examination):
Qualifiers in NID entrance can pursue profession design courses at bachelor and masters levels. 4 year B Des and 2.5 year M Des courses in various disciplines are available to students. Admissions are based on written exam, tailoring, knitting and other technical skills. Additional information is provided online after October 25, 2016.
IIFT (Indian Institute Of Fashion Technology):
The IIFT in Bangalore offers BSc in Fashion and apparel design, fashion management masters, diploma/PG diploma in fashion design and boutique management. Academic requirements, online IIFT entrance scores, and first cum first served basis are used for admissions.
NIIFT Entrance Examination (North India Institute Of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination):
Students who qualify in NIIFT exam can opt for 3 year UG, 2 year PG and PhD level academic programmes including fashion, textile, and knitwear designing, garment manufacturing and fashion retail management.
Pearl Academy Of Fashion Entrance Examination:
The best fashion, design, and business courses at UG and PG levels along with diplomas and professional diplomas are offered here. Interested aspirants have to apply online at the admission portal of Pearl Academy website. Selection is based on written admission test conducted across India followed by interview and skills test.
SOFT (School Of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination):
SOFT online test is held first week of May 2017 for admission into BDes, and NIFT assisted courses in UG in Fashion and Apparel Design, and PG Diplomas. Online applications can be submitted with fee payment between December 2016 – May 2017.
