Candidates who have successfully registered for the next MAT exam can go through the following information and guidelines. All the necessary details pertaining to the MAT examination pattern, MAT syllabus, marks allotment, and test modes are provided below. Management courses are offered at over 600 Business schools in India. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) scores are acceptable in national and international B-schools for admission to MBA and allied study programmes. The MAT exam is conducted four times every year and the results are declared in a short period using SMS and online resources. The MAT scores are valid at most management institutes for a period of 1 year.

Any official notification regarding MAT Exam Dates 2017 has not been released yet. Here we are providing the tentative dates of MAT exam 2017:

Examination Pattern Of MAT:

The candidates have the option to chose between computer based test or paper test. Depending on the number of applicants the tests are conducted in phases on scheduled dates and times. The following information pertaining to MAT 2017 is noteworthy –

  • The examination paper will have 200 questions
  • The General Aptitude of the candidates is tested using the objective type multiple choice questioning method.
  • Each correct answer for every attempted question carries 1 mark only.
  • There is no negative marking assigned for wrong answers during the evaluation.
  • The duration of the test is for 2.5 hours or 150 minutes.
  • The test time is between 10 AM to 12.30 PM during weekends.

  • On clicking the MAT link the page containing information to MAT exam and quick links is opened.
  • Candidate can click the ‘FAQ’s for MAT’ link under the Quick Links menu on the right.
  • The candidate can scroll down to the bottom of the page with the following question – ‘What is the nature of MAT test?’
  • The examination pattern, topics, marks allotment, and test duration are mentioned in a tabular form.
  • Candidates can bookmark this page or take a printout after downloading it for future reference.
  • Candidates have to refer to the online resources and official websites in a regular manner for future updates and further information.

Syllabus Of Written Examination For MBA Admissions:

Candidates who registered successfully online have to appear for the written examination with their admit cards. Candidates have the option of choosing either the computer mode or the paper mode of taking the test. The test is conducted in the appropriate mode as per the option chosen by the candidates during registration and online application. The written examination will evaluate the candidate’s general aptitude. The marks allotment and specific sections along with suggested test times are tabulated below –

The written exam has multiple choice objective type questions. Each correct answer carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking assigned to wrong answers.
