Required Qualification:

The essential educational qualifications for each vacancy are given below –

  • Engineering Assistant (Electrical) –
    • 3 yrs. Full time diploma or 2 yrs. diploma + 1 yr. ITI in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering
    • 55% marks is minimum.
  • Engineering Assistant (T&I)
    • 3 yrs. Full time diploma or 2 yrs. diploma + 1 yr. ITI in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering,  Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Radio Communication Engineering, Instrumentation & Process Control Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
    • 55% marks is minimum.
  • Technical Attendant-I Posts –
    • 10th pass or matriculation plus ITI pass from recognized boards/institutes in respective trades.
    • Candidates must have Trade Certificate or National Trade Certificate (NTC) from NCVT.
  • All diplomas and certificates must be from recognised boards/institutes of repute.
  • All ITI trade certificates must be of 2 yrs. duration excepting Diesel Mechanic Trade which is for 1 yr.

Age Limit:

The eligibility criteria in terms of age requirements are mentioned here –

  • Minimum age of candidates has to be 18 years
  • The upper age limit has been decided as 26 years as of 20th August, 2016.
  • OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates get relaxation of 3 years in upper age limits only for the reserved posts.
  • Ex-Servicemen get relaxation in upper age limit as per rules.

Selection Process:

The detailed procedures for selection is given below:

  • Three stages of selection are used – Written test, trade test, and personal interview.
  • Written test will have objective type questions (multiple choice).
  • Marks relaxation is given only to Ex-Servicemen and only for Technical Attendant post.
  • Evaluation is done and candidates who fail to secure minimum qualifying marks are rejected.
  • Written test qualifiers and Trade test qualifiers are called to Trade test and interview in 1:10 and 1:5 ratios respectively.
  • Qualification at each stage is necessary and final recruitments are done based on reservation rules and cumulative marks.

Salary Structure:

The basic salary with allowances like HRA and other perks will be according to the Indian Oil Corporation Limited rules.

The aspirants who wants to seek enrolment in any of the above position for apprenticeship must be between 18 to 24 years as on 31st July 2016.

The aspirants who belong to other categories than General will  receive relaxation period as per the rules and regulation of the organization which is given below.

  • 03 Years of relaxable period has been assigned to the candidates of OBC Category.

Selection Process:

As per the advertisement posted by the IOCL Recruitment 2016, following is the selection methodology for the recruitment for the post of Apprenticeships –

The selection of the apprentice as per the IOCL Recruitment 2016 will be based on Written Test and Personal Interview.

The First round is of Written Test where the aspirants will have to showcase their skills. The selection committee set up by the Indian Oil Corporation Limit will be responsible for shortlisting talented and meritorious candidates based on their performance at the Written Test.

The applicants who get shortlisted at the Written Test round will be promoted to attend the Personal Interview where they will  be questioned by the shortlisting and the selection will be made accordingly. The weightage of Written test and Interview will be 85/15% which can be further relaxed to 5% for the aspirants of SC or ST category.

The aspirants are required to produce the Fitness certificates as per the norms of the organization for which the format is available on its website.

Required Qualification:

The qualification as prescribed from a university recognized by the government of India, and a full-time regular course along with 50% marks.

The candidates should apply for the first time for apprenticeship to Indian Oil Corporation and no prior apprenticeship be done in the organization.

Only fresh candidates who have currently passed out from an institution only need apply, and candidates with experience more than one year shall not be considered for the  post.

The candidate should submit an affidavit along with seal and signature of the principal of the institution concerned in case the final years results of study has not been published.  Upon publishing of results, the candidate should produce the required certificates and mark list.

A minimum of 18 years and not to exceed 24 years at the time of applying for the position.  Age relaxation to physically challenged candidates for a period of 10 years as per government of India guidelines.  Age relaxation not more than 15 years for scheduled caste candidates, and 13 years up to other backward caste candidates and non-creamy layer.

Selection Process:

A two hour test would be conducted on the proficiency and skill of individuals in the discipline that they have applied.  A pass in the physical test will also be conducted excluding physically handicapped candidates.

A minimum of 40% marks relaxable up to 5% for scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and physically handicapped candidates.

Candidates must pass medical and fitness test as conducted by the company.

Salary Structure:

The candidates are awarded a consolidated monthly stipend for the duration of the apprenticeship.

A sum of 2500 rupees subject to 70% minimum wage of semiskilled worker for the first year.  A sum of 2500 or 80% minimum wage of semiskilled worker for the second year.  A sum of 2500 or 90% minimum wage of semiskilled worker for the third year.
