State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) of AP is inviting online applications for above mentioned vacancy. Eligible candidates can submit online application forms and upload scans of photo, signature, and caste certificates. Selection is done on the basis of preliminary written exam, physical measurements test (PMT), physical endurance test (PET), and final written examination. Registered candidates will have to download admit cards for the written exams and other tests as per the AP Police Recruitment 2016-2017 notification. Required Qualification:

The above mentioned educational qualifications are essential and minimum.  Additional requirements are provided below –

  • All candidates should have received their degrees as on July 1, 2016.
  • Degrees have to be issued by institutes or universities with State/Centre/UGC recognition.
  • Equivalent qualification is also acceptable.
  • Candidates with higher qualifications are treated at par with candidates who have eligible qualifications.

Age Limit:

The age limits and upper age relaxations are mentioned below as per the AP Police Recruitment 2016-2017 notification –

  • Minimum age limit for SCT posts is 21 years as of July 1, 2016 i.e. candidate should be born on or after 2nd July,  1989
  • Maximum age limit for SCT posts is 27 years as of July 1, 2016 i.e. candidate should be born on or before 1st July,  1995
  • For Deputy Jailor posts, candidate should have been born not later than 1st July, 1995 and not earlier than 2nd July, 1986
  • For Assistant Matron posts, candidate should have been born not later than 1st July, 1995 and not earlier than 2nd July, 1991
  • SC,ST, and OBC candidates get 5 years upper age relaxation.
  • Defence personnel and NCC cadets receive relaxation up to 3 years + years of service.
  • Government and retrenched employees receive relaxations as per rules.

Selection Process:

Selection for the above mentioned positions includes the following sequence of steps –

  • Only eligible candidates are considered for selection.
  • Initial written exam with two papers is held and candidates who qualify are invited for the next stage.
  • Cut off marks for qualification are 35% for BCs, 40% for OCs, and 30% for SCs/STs/Ex-Servicemen.
  • These marks are discarded after this stage and are not counted for final selection.
  • Qualified candidates are subjected to PET and PMT after informing them of dates and venue.
  • Candidates who qualify in PET and PMT have to appear for the final written exam.
  • The written exam can be in paper mode or computer-based and candidates are informed of the dates, mode, and venue.
  • Final written exam will have 4 papers.
  • The first two papers will be for 100 marks each and are used to test candidates’ English and Telugu proficiency.
  • The other two papers will have the following syllabus – General Studies and Arithmetic, Reasoning and Mental Ability.
  • For SCT -Civil, Deputy Jailer, and Assistant Matron posts the final two papers are for 200 marks each.
  • For other posts, final two papers are for 100 marks each.
  • Cut off marks for qualification are 35% for BCs, 40% for OCs, and 30% for SCs/STs/Ex-Servicemen.
  • Selection is done on the basis of merit in terms of marks in final exam, PET test scores, etc., as per officially specified rules of AP Government.
  • Selection is provisional and is subject to verification of testimonials, antecedents, etc.,

Salary Structure:

As per the AP Police Recruitment 2016-2017 notification, the following details are listed –

  • During training all the candidates receive periodic stipend as fixed by the Government.
  • The Pay Grade and salary amounts for each position after appointment are in the above table.

Required Qualification:

The applicants must mandatorily possess the following qualifications & degrees to apply for the posts under the AP Police recruitment 2016.

For Sub Inspector of Police (Communication):

  • B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/Electronics/ Computer Engineering/ Information Technology/ special diploma course in Electronics with specialization in either Computer or Communication Engineering.
  • Three years BSc. Degree in electronics or any other equivalent qualification approved by the Andhra Pradesh Government will also be acceptable in place of the above mentioned qualifications.

For Sub Inspector of police in Finger print Bureau:

  • Degree in any of the subjects offered by Indian Universities.

Age Limit:

The age limit applicable for the applicants applying for the posts under the AP Police recruitment 2016 is between 21 years to 25 years. The age of the applicants will be considered as their age on 1st July 2016. Selection Process:

The selection process for both the posts under the Recruitment is the same except the for the post of Sub Inspector of police in Finger print Bureau, there is no preliminary selection test, but for the post of Sub Inspector of police(Communication), preliminary Selection Test is applicable.

  • Preliminary Selection Test(only for the post of Sub Inspector of Police in Communication):
      • The applicants will have to appear for a preliminary Selection Test after online registration. The venue & Time for the test will be mentioned in the hall ticket of the applicants.
  • Physical Measurements Test:
    • The applicants will have to go through a physical measurement test to make sure they are physically fit for the posts. The physical Measurement tests are different for male & female candidates. Required Qualification:
