About the ANUPGCET:

ANUPPGCET OR ACHARYA NAGARJUNA UNIVERSITY COMMON ENTRANCE TEST is a university in the state of Andhra Pradesh in Guntur.   The university conducts postgraduate entrance examination for candidates who wish to pursue post graduate courses in the university.  The university is has various programmes and is recognized by the state and University Grants Commission.  The university has designed the ANUPGCET for candidates who wish to pursue higher studies in the fields of Life science, Physical Science, Mathematical Science, Chemical Science, Geology, Integrated MSC, Social Science, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu, Commerce,  Education, integrated MBA, and physical education.

The university examination board releases results every year and also releases the rank card of each and every individual.  The ranks mentioned in the  website are used to calculate the course on a choice-based system.  Candidates thus obtaining higher ranks get a better choice of course during the counselling compared to candidates scoring poorly.  Candidates thus are entitled for a rank in case of passing the entrance examination.  Candidates thus obtaining a rank are invited to apply for a course of their choice during the counselling of individuals.  The choice-based course counselling is completely based on merit.

About the Acharya Nagarjuna University:

The Acharya Nagarjuna University has a sprawling campus of 3000 acres and caters to all students irrespective of caste, creed, color, and gender.  The  university has many constituent colleges and admission to postgraduate course in university is on merit basis and performance on the examination.   The university was formed in 1987 in Guntur district and has a total of 93 constituent colleges under its purview, which offers a variety of courses.  The university is recognized under the University Grants Commission of India and has many luminaries to its credit.  There are a multitude of departments connected to the university and has been propounded as a centre of higher education and excellence by the Andhra University. ANU functions as an outgrowth of Andhra University and also offers numerous course in distance mode for professionals and students alike, who are unable to attend classes.  The university provides equal opportunities in terms of education and research and maintains campuses in Krishna District and Prakasam District.  The university offers 44 courses to its credits in both postgraduate and undergraduate programs.  The university has also entered into partnership with the University of Michigan for its extension and research wings.

P.G. Admissions:

Postgraduate admissions are made under the choice based system of credits provided in semester.  An internal examination weightage of 30% marks are added without supplementation.  Hostel accommodations are provided to candidates who apply for the same.  Independent girls and boys hostel with independent mess facility is available for boys and girls.  The university is yet to provide any form of transportation facility to the students.  Many constituent colleges of the university may not have adequate accommodation, but are subject to the rules of university.  Candidates are encouraged to take up research projects while their study tenure and provide dissertation on topics provided.  An APSRTC pass for college students are provided for girl students.  The minimum attendance percentage required by a PG student to sit in the examination is arrived at 75% and no condonation whatsoever is encouraged by the university for absenteeism.  In case of students dropping out from a course may not be readmitted to the university again.  Students are expected to behave respectfully and maintain good conduct in the institution premises, and bad character of the organization will not be tolerated b y the university.  Students will be enrolled only for one course at a time, however, students can take up additional diploma courses that falls off schedule for further enhancement of their skills.  A conduct certificate and transfer certificate from the previously studied college is required for admission in the university.  The university reserves the right to admit the student on merit basis and reservation rules from time to time put forth by the state and central governments are observed from time to time.  Students are not encouraged to take part in unionism and provide destruction of property are not at all encouraged.

Statistics –

As per the statistics and data collected over time, the observation is brought that a high number of students appear for ANUPGCET and is currently scoring good marks and has gained seats in the college of their choice.  The university does not choose to restrict students from writing the examination in any form.  A trend is being followed every year which states that the number of girls passing out the exams is always higher than a number of boys passing the exams. The expected number of students passing out the exams are higher compared to 2015 and same is with the number of Girls passing the exams this year which is expected to be higher than that of Boys.

Students who has studied at the ANUPGCET college can take part in industry exchange programs and attend campus interviews arranged by the institution to provide better job prospects.  The scoring pattern used by the university is one of its kind and ANU is the first of its kind to introduce a form of grading system in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  The government of Andhra Pradesh has continuously provided support in developing the university par excellence.  Many students who have passed out the university has come up with their own startups and also provide jobs to students.
